Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt Blocks 3, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 23, 24, 61

Making good progress on these blocks.  Still not a big fan of applique.  Blocks are still 6 1/2" - makes for lots of small pieces!  All of these are pieced, still lots of paper piecing blocks to go.  My favourite of this batch is #19 - the checkerboard!

Tula Pink 100 Modern Quilt Blocks 21-28

I am loving how these blocks come together!  Just a wee change and you have a totally different looking block.  So many different ways to do rectangles.

Tula Pink 100 Modern Quilt Blocks 16 - 20

Fun with rectangles!

The camera is having trouble with some of the colours - especially greens.

Love the wee little bento box for Block 20!

Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt Block 109

FWS Block 109 Windows

This delightful little block from the Farmers Wife Sampler Quilt is called "Windows", and is the challenge block this week in the FarmerWifeSampler yahoo group.  Not sure why the camera turned the lovely teal fabric into grey - the orange and brown are pretty true.

Project 48 Block 5

A cute modified nine-patch with fun alternating HST's.  I'm really liking how these blocks are coming together!

This block was designed by Linden Vine (

Plus, Linden uses 'whilst' in her description of creating the block.  Delightful :)

Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt - Blocks 20 and 111

Two for one!  Both of these use the same design layout - it sure is easier and quicker to make multiples!  Of course, I managed to misread the photo for the Block 111 (Wrench) and just used whole squares.  I let it sit for a couple of hours like that, and just couldn't leave it.  Reverse sewed, made it right.  Glad I did.  Some days there is a lot more reverse sewing than forward sewing.  Oy!

Tula Pink's 100 Modern Blocks

Finished the first 15 blocks now - the 'cross' section.  These go together really nicely.  Well, except block 14, which didn't have the dark arms didn't line up.  Redid that block, with oversized pieces cut down to ensure the arms would line up.

Famers Wife Sampler Quilt Block 28

This little cheddar & blue beauty is Block 28 - Duck and Ducklings!  Paper pieced (freezer paper method).  I had to debate with myself after I had the block put together, and I spotted one of the wee blue triangles with the wrong side out - leave it or fix it??  Decided to fix it.  Oy!  But I'm glad that I did.
