Indie Folk Table Runner

Wishbone

This table runner is a display sample for my friend Michealanne at Stache Fabrics & Notions.  Her shop is a virtual business, and she also vends at shows and guild meetings and events.  The fabrics are from Live Art Gallery Fabrics designer Pat Bravo, a collection titled "Indie Folk" in PIMA cotton.  Oh, the feels, all the feels!  This fabric is amazing - soft, crisp, light, airy.

Do you need some of this fabulous fabric too? Head on over to Stache and check out the whole line.

The pattern is available freely online at the Live Art Gallery Fabrics site.  Here is the runner under construction:

Michealanne is so fabulous to quilt for - she is happy to have me "quilt as desired" :)

For this runner, I wanted to balance the strong diagonal lines, so I laid out painters tape on the opposite diagonal, to quilt designs on those diagonals.  There was rolling back and forth each pass but it wasn't too hard to manage.

On each side of the painter's tape, I quilted a line, creating a paths to quilt in.  This tape is great - leaves no marks or residues.  Inside each of the narrow strips I quilted alternating ribbon candy and wishbone designs.  In the wider paths, there are a variety of fun designs.  Swirls, triangles, feathers, ferns, arcs (matching one of the designs in an earlier quilt for Michealanne), paisleys.  The thread is a glorious Glide "Desert Sunset", in both the top and bobbin.
